eKidsafe Program

The eKidsafe Program has been created by PA West Soccer to provide an additional source of protection for the players and the soccer clubs.  The goal of eKidsafe is to help clubs identify individuals who may pose a potential risk to the players, the club, or both.

PA West Soccer expanded the risk management effort beginning in the 2007-2008 playing season to tighten the requirements on the coaches and adult volunteers with access to children registered with PA West Soccer.  The risk management policy requires all adults working with children on behalf of PA West Soccer or member clubs to have a completed background check to be eligible to participate in organization activities.  PA West Soccer has made an online background check available at half the cost of those offered through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania – that service is called eKidsafe.  The eKidsafe program is an online solution that provides a nationwide background check in a safe, secure method using the services on backgroundchecks.com.

The eKidsafe application must be completed by every volunteer who works directly with youth players or has a reasonable amount of contact with them (i.e., coaches, assistant coaches, managers, assistant managers, trainers, club officers), unless the volunteer can provide the club with copies of their State Police/Child Welfare clearances (dated within two years).
